Now,
for all the hoopla about the Macintosh, I have to admit I
hated it at first. I was used to typing commands to format
documents and to perform all tasks on the computer. Now I had
to keep taking my hands off the keyboard to use the mouse. But
as that photo of a very well-worn mouse shows,
I got used to
it pretty quick. Especially when I discovered SuperPaint for
drawing and Thunderscan, a device that let
your turn an Image Writer dot-matrix printer into an image
scanning device. Of course, it often took many hours to
clean up a scanned image enough to make it somewhat
presentable, but hey! This was progress. Electronic art.
Imagine the possibilities.
