Contemporary American composers are the living legacy of our nation's musical heritage.

The Living Legacy Series is an exciting new interview series that features these living composers and their settings of text by American writers and poets.

The series takes place live via Facebook on the Of Thee I Sing page on the last Sunday of the month at 4pm Central Time. The recorded episodes will soon be available for additional viewing here on this page, and in the meantime, the premiere event can be viewed here.

Each installment features a different composer, who will share his or her journey and passion for composing, especially song composition.

One song is performed live per installment that will serve as the focal point.

Viewers with Facebook accounts have the opportunity to ask questions via chat, but anyone can watch the episodes without a Facebook account being required.

The second episode is taking place this coming Sunday, July 26th, featuring composer, author, and poet, Jessica Buford.  I'll be singing her song, "They were Miners," set to text by the composer which was inspired by her grandfather's experiences as a West Virginia cola miner for over 44 years.

More information on Jessica Buford and her work is available here.

Updates and details on future episodes will be posted on this page, but to make sure not to miss key information, please subscribe to the company mailing list.
